Waitati Neighbourhood Support

Neighbourhood Support encourages neighbours to talk about the issues affecting us in our street/area. Issues of concern include:

*Car damage
*Car thefts
*Boy racers
*Noisy parties
*Burglary
*Bullying
*Graffitti
*Vandalism
*Other crime and anti social behaviour

We all have the right to feel safe in our home and Neighbourhood Support can help to reduce the FEAR of crime by knowing you are not alone, your neighbours are experiencing these things too.

What else does Neighbourhood Support help?

*Minimise burglaries and car crime by being deligent and noticing abnormal activity.
*Share information received from the police, fire services, civil defence and other agencies.
*Educate and empower each other to be responsible for your own safety.
*Help you to prepare for a civil emergency
*Support victims of crime
*Know when and how to contact services like Police, emergency services and other support agencies

In brief, Neighbourhood Support:

  • Fosters a sense of community spirit where everyone is respected and valued.
  • Creates effective communications with those living in proximity and shares information to help make our homes environment and community safer.
