I have been getting the weekly TT forum and blog updates for about 6 months now. Reading it has been key in refining the thoughts and convictions of my wife and I around how we should be positioning ourselves in the coming years to best cope with the change that is to come. Reading the updates helped gel the decision to buy an acre of land close to New Plymouth (6km). Our aim is to expand on our current residential plot of fruit trees, veges and chooks into something larger and more self reliant, but stilll be close enough to town to enable non-personal car options for transport. So, the house is sold, we moved into a rental 3 weeks back, and the transititon begins.
While I (and possibly many people) have been silent on the site, what I wanted to say is "Thank You" to all those blog writters and forum posters who are putting up their thoughts and links to other sites of interest. Some of us may be quiet online, but we still read your thoughts and are encouraged to take positive steps to create a more stable future in times of change. The TT community helps us to feel more 'normal' in our views, not the eccentice frindge which we sometimes get labelled as and which makes us more hesitant to trust out instincts and take action. Thanks for the inspiration and support. Sometimes the treads of connectivity are not visible, but still they grow...
